Ariel and I have been planning to do this session for quite awhile now, and she has been so patient with my hectic fall schedule. I’m so glad we got to do it last night, even though Mother Nature did decide that it was the perfect night to start getting dark early. Time to move those session times up fellow photogs, it’s officially fall!

Claire is a foreign exchange student from France. Ariel asked for her to be included in the session, and it turned out to be a fantastic idea! They are both gorgeous, and have very different styles. I love the way a photograph can show similarities between two very different, yet very awesome people.

Claire was up first for some individuals.

And then Ariel!

Some of them together :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

My mind seems to be wondering today – so I thought it would be fun to grab a picture from a previous session and have a before and after.  I’ve been preparing for some mentoring sessions, and concentrating step by step on explaining my workflow.  Most of my mentoring clients are surprised that the majority of what I teach is in camera, and that my post processing is fairly simple. It’s simply developing a digital negative.  :)

This photo of adorable little Carter is one of my all-time favorites.  I love his expression, and the fact that he could really care less that I wanted to take his picture – he just wanted to play with the gumballs. :D

Here is the Before:

Isn’t he a doll? Here is the processed shot after just about three minutes of my normal processing.

And the two together -

Thanks for reading along, I hope you enjoyed the images! :)

I love couples who let me drag them through trees…and brush…and high grass. Sam and James were willing to do whatever I asked – did no one tell them how risky that can be? :P Combine awesome clients with the fact I got to work with my favorite assistant tonight, I would call it a smashing success. I think Sam and James would agree that having my tall hubby on reflector duty is pretty awesome – his height makes him a great sunblocker. No squinting in these photos for sure! :)

Sam and James – thanks so much for choosing me to document your love. It’s an honor every single time I am chosen. I hope you love your sneak!! :)

Happy Labor Day Weekend!  I was lucky enough to spend this morning with this lovely family.  One of my favorite parts of this job, is that I often get hired at times that the whole family will be together.  I want to thank the Berberich family for sharing a little of their long, family weekend with me. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! :)

All the kiddos!

Oh the beautiful babies!!
